  • How to Use the RangeMaster Shoulder Kits

Recovery from a shoulder injury or surgery can be a tough road!

Depending on your exact issue, you may be experiencing one or more possible dilemmas. This could involve limited range of motion (ROM), decreased strength and stability, and overall, less shoulder mobility. Pain is often a major limiting factor to consider as well.

Due to the fact that there are many areas to address while healing the shoulder, you may require various tools and equipment to help you along the way.

This is what RangeMaster is all about!

While RangeMaster offers individual tools to assist in your shoulder recovery, did you know that full kits are available??

That’s right!

These shoulder kits include multiple pieces of available RangeMaster equipment and will help give you a well-rounded approach to your healing.

Let’s first take a look at what shoulder kits are available, which tools are included in the kits, and how to choose the right kit for you.

Here we go!

A Breakdown of the Available Shoulder Kits

There are 3 main shoulder kits available through RangeMaster:

1.   Shoulder Kit Classic

2.   Shoulder Kit Pro

3.   Cancer Recovery Strength and Mobility Kit

The shoulder kit classic includes an over-the-door pulley, shoulder wand, and the shoulder fit resistance band.

The shoulder kit pro includes the same tools as the previous kit, but also includes the posture PT resistance band.

The cancer recovery strength and mobility kit includes the same equipment as the shoulder kit classic, but is meant to recognize and assist in the recovery process after treatment specifically for breast cancer. Many cancer survivors have had to undergo extensive and major surgery, such as partial or complete mastectomies, which may or may not involve the removal of lymph nodes and possible reconstructive surgery. Additionally, many have to undergo several rounds of intensive radiation therapy. All of this can lead to significant shoulder restrictions and pain.

The pulleys assist in improving you ROM. More specifically, it allows for activeassisted ROM. If you are focusing on healing one shoulder, the stronger side can be the leader and helper with use of the pulleys, in order to improve the ROM on the struggling shoulder.

The shoulder wand can provide help similarly to the pulleys, but allows for a little more variety and positioning of your stretches.

The available resistance bands provide an opportunity to improve shoulder strength and stability.

The shoulder kits, along with our RangeMasterU site, offer guides that detail specific exercises you can practice with each tool in the kit.

Choosing the Right Kit for You

The concept of a comprehensive shoulder kit may sound appealing to you. If so, you may be wondering: How do you choose the right kit?

Excellent question!

As you’ve probably already noticed, the kits have some common tools they share with each other.

The main difference to note between the shoulder kit classic and shoulder kit pro is that the pro kit includes the posture PT resistance band.

When comparing the shoulder fit resistance band vs the posture PT resistance band, the main difference is that the shoulder fit band is one single loop with a comfortable handle grip. The posture PT resistance band is one long band without a handle grip.

If you find gripping a resistance band itself difficult for your hands, the handle grip on the shoulder fit band may be the right choice for you. The only downside to consider is that you can only use this band to perform exercises one arm at a time. This isn’t really an issue if you’re focusing on one particular shoulder; however, if you’re looking for a resistance band that allows you to utilize both arms at the same time, then the posture PT band is a good choice. This band also enables you to not only strengthen the shoulders, but key in on and improve your posture.

Hopefully this helps you to better understand the shoulder kits and what they have to offer. The key is to look at your particular shoulder issue, what you’re trying to improve, and which RangeMaster tools will help you achieve this.

If you have any doubts or questions, never hesitate to discuss things further with your doctor, surgeon or rehab specialist. They are the experts after all!
